Dancing with the Supremes

This is not humor, sorry.

There are so many more learned voices on the Internet that I am reluctant to add my voice to theirs in criticizing the Supreme Courts’s decision yesterday to abdicate any judicial responsibility into rectifying the racial ills of society. Though it was not cast in this way, that is the effect of what they have done; and more importantly, what they plan to do -- for the implications of their decision are easy to discern.

What, I suppose, is most upsetting to me as Teacher is this: these people are truly ignorant. Now, ignorant does not mean they are feeble brained. I don’t think this is so. They are ignorant in that they either have not thought about what they are doing or the thought processes they have been taught are so stilted that the only conclusions they can arrive at have been predetermined and are faulty.

Within the schools we must harbor that there will be, at some point, a society that recognizes the talents and worth of all people. In America this day, this is not true. Instead, we have assigned roles to the various ethnic groups and shepherd the boys and girls into the proper chutes that will lead to the correct branding by the time their education is done. If you are white and rich, the chute available is a much more attractive one: it leads to a great college and a wonderful job. If you are black and poor, the choices are not so good. The funnel is large and people are mashed toward being an athlete or an entertainer and if they do not make it: they are simply discarded as being no more important that if they were used tissue. Premature parenthood is accepted as a viable alternative to education. Fast food restaurants need workers. Aspire to more and the man gets nervous. They will keep you in your place as servants. Their courts just approved this and do not try to let anyone tell you different. This decision should be called the return to servitude decision

So, be sure to bow to Massahs Roberts and Alito and Scalia and even Pitiful Clarence as they pass - keep your eyes on the ground and while you are it, keep bowed while Massahs Reid and Biden pass as well - they could have filibustered these fools but did not, and they are to blame as much as the Republicans.

Thoroughly disgusted.
